The Way To Be Satisfied

1 Timothy 6:6: But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Psalms 17:15: As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

The way to be satisfied is to be like Jesus. There are many ways in which we cannot be like Jesus. But there are many ways in which we can be like Him and be more satisfied in this present life. We don*t have to wait for Heaven for a measure of Christ-likeness. We can sin less and do what is right more (with His help). We can be like Jesus by loving God and others, by trusting God*s guidance in our lives, by obeying Him, by depending upon His provision, by trusting His keeping power and by trusting His power to raise us from the dead and take us to Heaven. Jesus trusted the Father in all those things and more. We can be like Jesus in so many ways we could not count them. We can be like Jesus by trusting God in all things. And, of course, faith in God includes faith in all three members of the Godhead, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:29: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Pleasing God is what we were created for. When we please our Creator it benefits us.

Revelation 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

John 8:29: And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

1 John 3:22: And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Psalms 19:14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Titus 2:11: For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Luke 1:74: That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

2 Timothy 2:19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

The most satisfied individuals I know are those who have served the Lord faithfully for a long time. Nothing can satisfy a mortal man as much as being more like Jesus.
